About UsScott's Books is a current member of the New Hampshire Antiquarian Booksellers Association, and has been in business in New Hampshire since 1996. We carry a large inventory of rare and out-of-print children's books, Caldecott and Newbery award winners and honor books, pop-ups and movable books, and many illustrated books from the 19th and 20th centuries. We also carry a large selection of Dick and Jane books, as well as children's primers and readers from 1840 to 1965. We currently have a catalog of over 100 signed children's books, which includes many signed books by Jane Yolen, Michael Hague, Barry Moser, and many more authors and illustrators.
Although we specialize in children's Books, we carry books in many other categories; modern fiction, mysteries, signed first editions, signed non-fiction, science fiction & fantasy, military & war, biographies, art, history, animals, gardening, and much more. We do have many science fiction & fantasy paperbacks that we are trying to input into our inventory. See our FAQ for more information.
We do buy books, single items or complete libraries or collections. We do not take books for trade. We do not buy Time-Life Books, Reader's Digest books, romance, bookclub editions, and most paperbacks. We also do not purchase encyclopedia sets, unless they are leather bound from the 19th century, and in near fine condition.
We operate on a By Appointment schedule only. You may call us at
anytime at 603-672-9272 to set up an appointment to browse our shelves.
We carry ONLY children's books at our main location, but currently have
about 15,000 books in stock.
We regularly attend book auctions in the New England & New York area, which usually gets us new stock almost weekly.
We gladly will do a booksearch on any title you'd like, and we'll keep
you in our database for, oh, let's say 300 years! What a deal!
We
do partake in auctioning books on eBay, so feel free to check out the
